CBBC Spring “Meet and Greet” Social
It’s time to celebrate SPRING!!
Please join us for our Meet and Greet Social which will be held on Wednesday, April 10, at 6:00pm at Romeo’s, 201 US Route 1, Scarborough (in their function room). Get reaquainted with your club mates and riding buddies. Provide ideas, suggestions, and hopes for the upcoming bicycle season on index cards at the event. Food and beverages are available for purchase and there will be a 50/50 raffle.

Club Camping Trip
Lamoine State Park is the site of our 2024 club camping trip, which is scheduled for July 18-21 (three nights starting Thursday, checking out Sunday). Club members are welcome to camp for 1, 2 or all 3 nights.
Lamoine is located just beyond Ellsworth (see map), across Frenchman Bay from Mount Desert Island. Total attendance will be limited, so contact Dave Collins to reserve your spot. Note: Although no deposit is required at this time, Dave would appreciate knowing who is considering coming for planning purposes.
Cost will be in the range of $8 to $10 per camper per night, depending on how many campers we have.
Lamoine State Park Highlights:

- Large group site with a 24 x 40 covered shelter, and a second lean-to shelter
- The larger shelter has power outlets, a sink with hot and cold water, and a woodstove
- Picnic tables
- Fire pit
- Multiple campsites within the group site, some secluded
- Ample room for our group
- Hot showers
- Amazing views
- Proximity to Mount Dessert Island and Acadia National Park
Several nearby cycling routes will be offered, including local roads in Lamoine, the carriage trails on MDI, and of course the unforgettable route around Schoodic Point. There are also extensive hiking and kayaking options for those so inclined.
Note: Last year, several people in the group extended their stay at Lamoine State Park by a few days. If you’re interested in doing that, you can make your own reservation at Lamoine (or other State Park) at this link. The group site is not available beyond the dates we have reserved, and while there are many individual camping sites at Lamoine, it’s a good idea to reserve early.
Le Tour de Bowdoinham
Instead of the regular CBBC Saturday Club Ride, please join us on August 17 in Bowdoinham for a 33.8 mile ride (with two shorter distances available) where we hope to have a great Casco Bay Bicycle Club turnout. Please wear your club jersey AND help support the Bowdoinham Food Pantry.
The ride registration cost is a donation of non-perishable, unexpired food items or a personal check to the Bowdoinham Food Pantry.
Please pre-register for the ride, which starts promptly at 9AM at 9 Main Street in Bowdoinham. Parking is available across from the Bowdoinham Country Store or up the hill by the school.
CBBC plans to regroup for munchies and socializing afterwards.
Ernie’s 2nd Annual Bike-Fest
Ernie’s Cycle Shop is hosting their second annual Bike-Fest on Saturday, October 7th in Westbrook. CBBC will host two rides for this event…a 30 mile ride at noon and a slower paced 16 mile ride at 1 pm. Please see the event flyer for more details.
CBBC Holiday Party
It’s time to celebrate the holidays, live and in-person!! This year’s event will be held on Wednesday, December 6 at Bruno’s Restaurant & Tavern, which is located at 33 Allen Avenue in Portland. Happy hour and the cash bar start at 6pm; dinner is at 7pm. The cost, including tax and service fee, is $28 for CBBC members and $43 for non-members.

Parking is adjacent to the banquet room’s entrance, which is separate from the restaurant’s main entrance.
Dinner will feature the Abruzzi Buffet, which includes the following:
