It is Maine Bike Rally weekend, July 8 – 10, 2011. Please consider coming out for the whole event.
However what we need most right now are leaders and sweeps for the rides. If you can’t commit a whole weekend, please consider stopping through just to lead or sweep a ride.
Some ride host duties are sketched out here:
http://cascobaybicycleclub.org/html/Rally_2010/subcs/road/rideduties.htm
But really, the most important thing is for rider/visitors from away feel comfortable that at least a few folks familiar with the route are on the ride. The ride host openings, cuesheets and maps are at

 Watch for Moxie
If you’re riding in or near Pownal, please keep an eye out for Moxie, a Golden/Setter mix who has been lost from the home of one of our neighbors since June 7. If you see Moxie, please don’t chase her, but call 207-688-4726 immediately, day or night. Please see also Moxie’s flyer and Moxie’s website.
The Sunday June 19 2011 Gorham ride is canceled. See you next week.

The Downeast Experience: July 16 – 23, 2011
Led by Bob Bruce, Merrymeeting Wheelers Bicycle Club
The ride goes through Downeast Maine and into Canada so passports will be required. It leaves Louise Rideout’s house in South China on July 16 where there will be ample parking. Louise, a friend of Bob Bruce, will SAG the ride. Tents and sleeping bags with ground cushions are needed. Continue reading The Downeast Experience 2011

After looking at tomorrow’s forecast (slight chance of showers in the a.m., 50% chance of thundershowers in the p.m.), Colleen and I have decided to start the ride an hour earlier — so we’ll leave 6:30 (gulp!) from Mountain Division and start from Cranmore at 8 a.m. If you know anyone else who’s going, please pass this on.
Thanks, and see you tomorrow (May 28, 2011)!

The members of the CBBC board are considering purchasing new bike jerseys with an updated design this summer. However, before we order the jerseys, we’d like to get an estimate of the number of folks who’d buy a new jersey. I have set up a Google spreadsheet at this URL: http://tinyurl.com/3nhgd59. You can click on the link and fill in the necessary information: name, size, email, phone number. If you are interested in a new jersey, please visit the website before June 16, 2011, which is when we will be making the decisions.

It’s Notch Ride season again! The Bear Notch ride is May 28, 2011: 40 miles of loveliness, one nice hill. We’ll start the ride at 8 a.m. (note time change) at the Cranmore Ski Resort parking lot in North Conway. Feel free to meet at 6:30 a.m. to carpool from the Mountain Division Park in Standish (Rt. 35, almost at the intersection with Rt. 114). Bring bug spray, bring your friends, and bring your appetite for Cafe Noche afterward. (Rain date: Sunday, May 29, 2011.)
Sorry for the late notice on this one. Tonight’s (May 19, 2011) Westbrook ride has been canceled due to forecast of inclement weather. See you next week.

A free and silent bike ride, no faster than 10-12 MPH, honoring cyclists lost or injured due to motorists, promoting ‘Share The Road’.
This is a slow ride following a relatively flat course suitable for all experience levels of bicyclists. The ride will start at the Hannaford parking lot in Yarmouth and travel ~10 miles in Yarmouth. You must have a helmet. Lights and black arm-band recommended. Please be ready to ride by 6:50 PM. Note: no regular 6 PM CBBC ride on this date!

In May 2003, Chris Phelan organized the first Ride Of Silence in Dallas after endurance cyclist Larry Schwartz was hit by the mirror of a passing bus and was killed. Continue reading Ride of Silence, Yarmouth – May 18, 2011, 7 PM
The Community Bicycle Center is the youth organization in Biddeford run by Andy Greif. A Number of club members help with this organization.
They are having a benefit dance May 14, 2011. Let’s go down and meet some of the folks who will help us run the 2012 and 2013 Maine Bike Rally.
